Wide open Arizona, hiking around the Superstition Mountains
Just got back from a trip up to Northern Arizona to escape the heat of Phoenix. We ventured to Sunset Crater Volcano and Wupatki National Monument sites. They were both phenomenal, the volcanic eruption from over 1,000 years ago created an incredible landscape reminiscent of West Texas.
Hot summer days in Phoenix call for plenty of trips to the nearby lakes. One of my favorite pit stops along the way is the Superstition Mountains located in the Superstition Wilderness. Currently working on a painting trying to capture this image.
Saguaro Lake is one of my favorite things about living in Phoenix. It's only a 40 minute drive from my house.
South Mountain is a beautiful park located in Phoenix. It's full of endless bike trails, hiking and rock art.
